United
States orchestrates massive humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan
"We just don't know how many people may die if the bombing is
not suspended and the aid effort assured. We do know that the Afghans
are an extremely resilient people who will do all that it takes to survive.
But if nothing changes, there will be huge loss of life and unspeakable
suffering this winter."

While praising the American service men and women and their families
for being prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice, it is unfortunate that
President Bush had nothing to say in his October
7 speech about the ultimate sacrifice Afghani children and other innocent
civilians (who have absolutely nothing to do with the terrorist attack
on America) will be involuntarily making for the war on terrorism. When
America promises to defend the "freedom of people everywhere to live
and raise their children free from fear," let us not overlook the
fear of civilians in Afghanistan who are doing their fair share of Enduring
for Freedom "everywhere." - editor.
